Home for Christmas
Taking the theme of 'No room at the inn', this children's musical contrasts the bustling commercialism of a modern Christmas with the plight of the homeless. Plenty of small character parts and opportunities for dance improvisation. Full of warmth, humour and powerful songs, this engaging show captures the true spirit of Christmas.
It's a manic pre-Christmas shopping day and the streets are packed with bargain hunters. No-one notices homeless Kate falling on the pavement, apart from Nicky and Paul, who help her up. When they offer to help Kate to get home, Nicky and Paul find out that she has no home - except for a cardboard box.Shocked, the children want to help Kate. They go and tell their mother about her, but Mum is just angry to hear that they have been talking to a homeless stranger. As Christmas draws nearer, the children can't get Kate out of their minds. Will they be able to persuade Mum to help?"What an absolute pleasure it was to perform 'Home for Christmas' for a second time. The Children had a great time rehearsing for the production and the outcome was an immense success. The play was perfect for the children in Y5 and they took their character role to another level. They were able to share their thoughts and feeling through music and drama. Furthermore, I felt very proud of the children, and the phenominal success of the production. Thank you Starshine!" ~ Review by Mrs A. What a delight it was to perform 'Home for Christmas' in our school. The music and the script were perfect for motivating our Key Stage 2 children. The play gave us the oportunity to raise both awareness of, and funds for, the homeless. The true meaning of Christmas was explored in a moving and relevant way.It Was Great!

'Home For Christmas' was a great success. The music was particularly praised by the audience. This is the third Starshine musical we have performed and I would warmly recommend them to any primary schoolPerfect Choice.
Review by Karen El Falaki, (director) Lampenfieber Theatre Workshop, Charles Dickens European Primary School, Berlin, Germany
Working in a Bi-lingual school (English / German) where over half the children attending the Theatre Workshop have English as their partner language, it is not been easy to find a `Musical` to suit the varying abilities within the group. But after a lot of searching for the right product, I feel that I've really struck gold with `Starshine Music'! `Home for Christmas` has been the perfect choice for our latest production. The children have picked up the songs very quickly and understood the text without any problems. (They never stop singing!!) The script has been easy to follow and the backing tracks a dream to use. I would highly recommend this musical to any school; it has been an absolute pleasure to produce.True Meaning.

'Home For Christmas' is smashing! The children have been heard singing the catchy songs all around the school! The songs are so well contrasted - it's been very good for our Year 6 children.
