The Sleepy Stargazer
A very endearing Nativity musical! The story is approached through the eyes of a dreamy boy called Philip, whose habit of stargazing leads him to the most amazing adventure: while everyone else is asleep, he finds himself on a journey to the heart of the Christmas story! Great songs, and a sweet script.
Philip yawns all day long! Why? Because he can’t resist gazing at the stars all night! The other children complain that his sleepiness ruins their games. 'It’s no fun playing with Sleepy Stargazer!' they say, and they try to persuade him to sort himself out. ‘Count sheep!’ they tell him, ‘That’ll help you get to sleep – and you won’t miss out on everything.’
But one night when Philip is busy stargazing he spots a moving star, and he can't resist following it. While everyone else is asleep, Philip is busy meeting shepherds, angels and wise men - and then a baby king! ‘I don’t miss out on everything!’ he says. When he takes his friends to meet baby Jesus, they begin to understand the benefit of Philip being a stargazer - and for once he's proved he's not always a sleepyhead!
Also includes a read-aloud story and a narrated version.
"The songs were great! Everyone in the audience commented on how catchy they were, and the children managed to pick them up easily. More importantly it was easy to direct in a short space of time!" ~ H Silvey, Teacher, Oxfordshire.
