Tuishi Pamoja
A vibrant musical set in Africa, 'Tuishi Pamoja' (Swahili for 'we want to live together') has a great message about diversity and friendship, and creates a wonderfully uplifting and colourful spectacle as an end of year show.
Are stripes really stupid? And is it true that you can't talk sense with animals that have spots? Important questions for young giraffe Raffi and Zea the zebra, whose herds, although they live side by side, consider each other worthless. Giraffe and zebra children are not allowed to associate with each other but - when lions attack - Raffi and Zea are separated from their herds and find themselves thrown together. At first they maintain their hostility towards each other, but with the help of some smart meerkats they learn to be friends. When it's safe to return to their herds, they must ‘face the music’, and deal with with the prejudice of their parents.
"Last night's performance of Tuishi Pamoja went down a storm! The children loved preparing and performing the piece and poured all of their energy into learning their parts. The songs were easy to learn and fun to stage, and the story has a great message for all. Parents were full of compliments. What a great show!" - Miss Bee, Head of Music, Hampton.

I just wanted to let you know that after our 2 productions of Tuishi Pamoja we received many favourable comments from staff and parents. They thought the music was fantastic and the message very relevant and suitable for the age group (year 3 and 4). As a staff we found the songs easy to learn and effective; the length of time 'just right' and the balance of songs to acting good. The mix of characters was clear and we were able to add some narrator parts and animal parts in easily. Have a great Easter and we'll definitely look at your site when planning next year's production.Loved it!

LOVED IT! The whole of our year 2(3 classes) performed this together. All children, staff and parents thoroughly enjoyed the songs, music, story and the message behind it. There's a good script and variety of songs that will have the audience laughing one minute and reaching for their tissues the next!Great success!

We performed Tuishi Pamoja on Tuesday and it was a great success. We staged the production in the "round", which was a first for our school and it worked very well.Simply beautiful.
